Hello
I'm Rachel.
I'm an educator, mentor, trainer, author, wellbeing advocate, and most importantly, someone who genuinely understands the realities of working in education and care.
For more than 20 years, I've worked across Family Day Care, Long Day Care, In-Home Care, nannying, and educator support roles. I've experienced the joy, the challenges, the paperwork, the long days, the self-doubt, and the incredible privilege of being part of children's lives and learning journeys.
The Educators Well was created from a simple belief: educators deserve support too.
My passion is helping educators build sustainable, fulfilling careers through practical training, mentoring, professional development, wellbeing support, and honest conversations about what it really takes to thrive in our profession.
I believe growth doesn't come from perfection. It comes from reflection, connection, and having the right support around you.
My faith is an important part of who I am and continues to guide both my personal and professional journey.
"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come."
— Proverbs 31:25
Whether you're looking for accredited training, professional development, mentoring, resources, or simply reassurance that you're not alone on this journey, you're in the right place.
Thank you for being here.
Rachel 💙
My Story
If you'd told me 20 years ago where this journey would lead, I don't think I would have believed you.
Like many educators, I started because I loved working with children. What I didn't realise was how deeply I would come to care about the educators alongside them.
Over the years, I've worked across Family Day Care, Long Day Care, In-Home Care, nannying, mentoring, training, and educator support roles. I've welcomed babies into care who are now adults, graduating from university, getting married, and even welcoming children of their own into the world.
Being part of those journeys has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.
Away from work, I'm also a wife, mum, animal lover, gardener, writer, and enthusiastic Lego builder.
I married my husband Greg in 2015, and together we've built a life centred around family, resilience, and a willingness to embrace new adventures—even when they don't quite go to plan.
In 2020, at the beginning of the COVID pandemic, we welcomed our daughter Adelyn into the world. Becoming a mum gave me a whole new perspective on education, childhood, wellbeing, and the incredible responsibility we hold as educators.
Our family also includes our two cats, Princess and Ella, and Freya, our Labrador cross and much-loved service dog in training, who has become an important part of my recovery journey.
Then, in 2024, life took an unexpected turn.
I sustained a traumatic brain injury that changed almost everything.
For someone who had spent her career supporting others, I suddenly found myself needing support.
Simple tasks became difficult. Fatigue became a daily reality. Things I had once taken for granted required enormous effort. There were days filled with frustration, grief, uncertainty, and fear about what the future might look like.
Recovery has been one of the hardest things I have ever done.
But it has also been one of my greatest teachers.
It taught me about resilience.
It taught me about invisible disabilities.
It taught me about capacity, boundaries, and the importance of asking for help.
Most importantly, it taught me that wellbeing isn't something we talk about when we have time—it's something we must intentionally protect.
As I navigated recovery, I completed further study, published books about my journey, moved my family interstate from South Australia to Queensland, rebuilt my career, became a Training Partner with Allens Training, and continued growing The Educators Well into something much bigger than I had originally imagined.
The Educators Well was born from both professional experience and lived experience.
It's a place where educators can find practical support, meaningful professional development, encouragement, and honest conversations about the realities of working in education and care.
Because I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed.
I know what it feels like to lose confidence.
I know what it feels like to rebuild.
And I know how powerful it can be when someone walks alongside you and reminds you that growth is still possible.
My mission is simple:
To help educators feel supported, valued, confident, and capable of building sustainable careers they love.
Because when educators are well, everyone benefits.
Children thrive.
Families thrive.
Communities thrive.
And educators can thrive too.
"Life doesn't always go according to plan, but sometimes the most meaningful chapters are found in the pages we never intended to write."
